The Man Behind the Brand
Randy Simmons
35+ years of building trust, one project at a time.
His Story
Built Different, From Day One
Randy Simmons did not set out to become one of the Hill Country's most trusted builders. He set out to build things right. The reputation followed.
For over 35 years, Randy has been doing the kind of work that speaks for itself. Premium custom homes, complex ranch builds, and full land development projects across Central Texas. He takes on the projects that other builders look at and pass on. Remote properties, difficult terrain, clients who need someone to walk them through the entire process from raw land to finished home.
That is not marketing copy. It is how Randy has run his business since 1988. He does not take on more work than he can personally oversee. He does not hand your project off to a foreman you have never met. When Randy says he will be there, he is there.
Randy is selective about who he works for and what projects he takes on. He believes there needs to be a certain level of chemistry between him and a potential client. Not everybody can work together. "Life's too short to be harnessed up to the wrong situation," he says. "The people are more important than the project." That philosophy has led him to some of the finest clients he could ask for, and some of the most rewarding projects of his career. Many of those clients have become lifelong friends.
The Crew
A Team Built to Last
Some builders cycle through subcontractors like they are disposable. Many of Randy's core trade professionals have worked with him for over 20 years. His carpenters, electricians, and finish specialists are not hired guns. They are people who share his standards and have proven it across decades of work side by side.
That kind of continuity shows up in the finished product. There is a shorthand that comes from building together that long — fewer mistakes, better communication, and a result that reflects a team that genuinely cares.

They met for cigars at Tabak Haus, talked through his vision and his wife's, and Randy built something that worked for both. Gayne wrote about it for his column, which also ran in the Fredericksburg Standard.
